A Clinical Observation on Reconstruction of¢¥Urethral Stricture Resulting from Urethral Injury


Abstract
Among 12 cases of urethral stricture resulting from urethral injury, surgical management were Performed, including end to end anastomosis by perineal aproach in 9 casee and ¡¤transpubic urethroplasty in 3 cases.
The results were as follow:
1. The most common cause of urethral injury was the straddle injury in 6 cases and traffic accident in 3 cases.
2. Age distribution of the urethral injury was the highest in the age 20-49 (75%).
3. The sites of urethral stricture was bulbous urethral in 8 cases. and bulbomembranous in 3 cases, membranous in 1 case.
4. Duration of operation was 2-3 hours in end to end anastomosis and 4 hours in transpubic urethroplasty.
5. Duration from urethral injury to urethroplasty was 12-16 weeks in 7 cases.
6. Duration of indwelling catheter was below 14 days in 5 cases (41.67%).
7. The most common early commplication was wound infection in 4 cases.
8. Late complications were weak stream in 3 cases and incontinence in 1 case
